The Forgetful Spuds

It is hard to believe that summer break is already here!  We have big plans to keep busy this year and try lots of new things.  Hopefully, we accomplish everything on our list.  I plan to updated the website throughout the summer as we have our fun!

One of the first new things to try actually started in May.  The kids are just finishing up their first taekwondo class.  Neither of them were sure about it for the first two weeks.  Conlin has decided that he really likes the class.  Here he is focusing on what the teacher is explaining.
Anika says she doesn't really like the class.  However, she is doing a wonderful job of sticking with it and trying her best.
We have hit the losing teeth stage.  Anika has now lost two teeth.  She won't wiggle them, so it may be awhile before another one is lost.
Conlin is finally jumping straight off the diving board and not right on top of his teacher!
Mother's Day was a wonderful day spent at my Grandma's house.  We were able to share the day with her and my mom.
Our first camping trip of the year was a lot of fun.  The kids were excited to enjoy their hot chocolate before a busy day of play.
Climbing up the sand dune to slide down on their bums.
The wind at the sand dunes was great for Josh to fly his kite.  He really enjoyed it.
There was a perfect little climbing tree in our campsite.  The kids had fun playing in the tree.
We decided that a loft bed would be great in Anika's small room to make room for a desk.  She loves that she gets to sleep "up high" and play underneath her bed.  Josh is just glad he's done putting the bed together!
We moved Anika's twin bed into Conlin's room.  He was very concerned that his bed be "boyish" and not "girlish" like it was for Anika.  My friend showed me this headboard idea on Pinterest, and I couldn't resist!  In addition to his obsession with hockey, he now loves Star Wars, so we had to add a touch of that to the room!
It is so hard to believe that our sweet little girl is now a first grader!  She was excited to celebrate her last day of school but says she will miss it this summer.  I'm excited to have both my kids home all day with me for a little bit!
Class of 2025 will be here before we know it!
I created a Summer Fun Passport for the kids.  It is filled with activities and learning experiences to keep us busy this summer.  Our goal is to accomplish everything in our booklet before school starts in the fall.  Today, we crossed off our first activity.  The kids are really loving their new roller skates and had a blast using them at the rink.
