We
just got home from the most perfect family vacation to
Disneyland! This is just a sampling of our pictures.
I think you'll be able to tell how much fun we had.
The kids were
very excited to ride on the airplane. Anika doesn't
remember her first airplane ride as a baby, so it was like it
was the first time for both of them. Conlin kept making
sure the wing was still there.
After the
airplane, the kids were thrilled to ride a "school bus" the rest
of the way to Disneyland.
Josh and I
were excited to go to Rainforest Cafe since we went there on our
honeymoon. The kids loved the thunder storms and the
animals.
Bet you can't
tell that the kids were thrilled with their first Mickey-shaped
treat!
This was the
only chance Conlin had to see Donald Duck.
Anika was
thrilled to see Sleeping Beauty's castle.
From the time
we started planning our trip, the kids were both eager to ride
the teacups. We thought the ride might fall short of their
expectations. We were wrong. They absolutely loved
the ride and rode it every day. Each time, they begged
Josh to make it go faster.
Meeting
Mickey Mouse and seeing his house was fun!
This is our
first family photo in Disneyland. It was great to have
people willing to take pictures so that we could all be in them.
The fairies
were amazing with staying in character and interacting with the
kids. Tinker Bell asked who the kids' favorite fairy
was. Anika replied, "Rosetta," but Conlin got a big grin
on his face and said, "Tinker Bell." Guess he's already a
ladies' man!
Conlin was
thrilled to see Mater and McQueen. He thought it was cool
that he was able to touch them.
I love the
looks on the kids' faces as they watched the parade.
Two cute
little monkeys riding in the monkey car of the train
This is a
look of pure joy on one of the rides.
Anika giggled
during most of the rides.
Conlin was so
happy to meet his friend, Buzz!
The kids
thought it was fun to ride on a carousel with water animals.
Conlin
decided to flash me his cheesy grin.
One of the
nights we ate dinner in Ariel's Grotto. It was a fun meal
in a fun setting.
This was the
dessert we were served at Ariel's Grotto. I just had to
share the picture because I've never been served dessert like
this! There was so much we had it for 3 nights!
I'm not sure
which of the kids was more excited about meeting the princesses!
While Josh
and Anika were on a ride, Conlin and I ran into Woody.
Conlin was very concerned that he also get a signature for his
sister.
This is the
ride that Anika did alone with Daddy since Conlin was too
small. We weren't sure if she'd like Big Thunder Mountain
Railroad, but we figured there was only one way to know.
She absolutely loved it! Josh said she giggled the entire
time. When Conlin fell asleep, she even convinced me to
take her on it again.
The kids had
the chance to steer the steamboat and earn their captain
certificates.
Josh had been
looking forward to riding the Jungle Cruise. He loves the
cheesy jokes the driver shares.
We took the
kids to a character meal on our last night there. The
character interactions were so much fun. Minnie sat on the
floor and pulled the kids onto her lap. They thought that was
pretty great. Then they got to dance with Pluto and Snow
White!
The kids had
never seen palm trees. This little one was right outside
our motel room.
We promised
to take the kids to Build-A-Bear in Downtown Disney. They
had so much fun choosing their bears and dressing them.
They slept with them each night. Here is Conlin and Billy
waiting to ride the bus to the airport.
Anika even
hired a "babysitter" to watch her bear while we were in the
park. She would "call" her throughout the day to make sure
that Sparkle Rose was doing okay.
